Crunchatize Me
What am I doing right now? Why, I'm eating Cap'n Crunch cereal and drinking Coke! I dunno why, but I wanted some captain crunch yesterday, so I bought a box. I forgot how good it was. I saw Melissa yesterday, who flew back down to Miami under unfortunate circumstances. That's for her to update herself. I FINALLY found a decent record store in Miami. It's called Uncle Sam's Music Cafe. It's a neat little independant record store on Washington Ave. two streets away from the big blue ocean. I went in there hoping to find The Crane Wife by The Decemberists, since my shipment of Neutral Milk Hotel's In The Aeroplane Over The Sea was delivered after what seemed like an eternity. They didn't have it. They did, however, have Pink Floyd's The Wall, so I snagged that shit faster than you can say something. I got them to look into ordering The Crane Wife, Neon Bible (Arcade Fire) and Transatlanticism (Death Cab For Cutie) for me. The lady at the counter seemed really cool and helpful. She was wearing an Obama t-shirt, and looked old enough to remember the days when 12" records were the standard musical playing format. Speaking of Obama, the first debate was on tonight and I completely missed it since I was working. I visited my grandma today since I haven't seen her in a while. We talked for a bit. She said she saw an faux antique record player at Target for $60. I may get that for my birthday. Speaking of my birthday, it's in 17 days! I still dunno what I wanna do. I'm gonna turn 20 years old. Any suggestions?

:Peace Love Unity:
Me: You're covering today?
Rene: I've been here all week
Me: ooooo....what'd you to deserve that?

It's a funny story. That show Dexter is based in Miami, and Rolling Stone had something about it and in it they pointed out some Miami "hot spots" (in the show I guess) and Uncle Sam's was mentioned. So was Churchill's.

The Ft. Lauderdale store is bigger and they have a much much much much wider variety. I got the complete works of Edith Piaf for six bucks. :D At least when I went to the one on the beach, it was all electronic and house records.
